Ergast is pleased to announce that Lap Time and Pit Stop data will be available throughout the 2012 season on an experimental basis – this means the data may not be available as quickly as race results and will not be subject to the same degree of manual checking due to the volume of information. See the new Lap Times and Pit Stops documentation pages for more details. The API also provides a complete set of this data for the 2011 season. Feedback on the new API methods and data validity would be very much appreciated.

Hi, lovely new features. To be really effective, could the driver information be included as another node, rather another lookup?

I was hoping you’d be happy to do the equivalent Driver Table query! The difficulty would be deciding how to implement paging. One option would be to include the Driver Table on the first page (i.e offset=0) or on request by using an additional parameter.
Any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Hi,
I created my F1 app to get me into iOS programming, I love F1 and finding your API really kept my motivation high and made me want to create a great app with great data.
Now my app is in it’s second year, next I want to include pit stop data. I like what you already provide but is there a value for the actual stop time, rather than the whole pit entry/exit time? I’d really like to show fastest pit crew rankings for each race.
So, thank you for creating the Ergast API, it’s an amazing resource! (Who are you and why do you provide this free brilliant service?)

Glad to hear the API has motivated your development work – that’s the main reason for running it. I’m a server-side rather than a client-side developer, so the API is my way to explore F1.
Unfortunately I don’t know where I can get the actual stop time.
